Mature oil fields in Azerbaijan are characterized by high depletion of recoverable reserves, declining reservoir pressure, increasing water cut, and declining economic performance. Under these conditions, the implementation of physicochemical methods to enhance oil recovery, aimed at bringing hard-to-recover and residual oil reserves into production, is particularly relevant. This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the geological and physical conditions of Azerbaijani fields, the theoretical foundations of physicochemical reservoir stimulation, and practical experience with polymer, surface-active, alkaline, combined (ASP), and microbiological methods.
