These “Safety Regulations for the Oil and Gas Production Industry” have been developed by the Research Institute of Geotechnological Problems of Oil, Gas and Chemistry, taking into account the current level of technological and industrial development. The document is based on previously established safety standards and incorporates significant updates and revisions driven by the intro-duction of modern technologies, advanced equipment, and improved operational practices in the oil and gas sector, including the experience of the Republic of Azerbaijan and international best practices.  The Regulations cover key stages of industrial activity, including drilling of oil and gas wells, their operation (such as flowing, gas-lift, sucker-rod pumping, and electric submersible pumping), construction and operation of field pipelines, maintenance and repair activities, as well as specialized processes such as acid treatment and hydraulic fracturing. Industrial hygiene and occupational safety are also ad-dressed.  Particular emphasis is placed on risk prevention, safe work practices, accident mitigation, control of hazardous factors, and the protection of personnel health and safety. The document establishes mandatory organizational, technical, and technological requirements aimed at ensuring safe operations, im-proving equipment reliability, and enhancing production efficiency. The Regulations have been developed with contributions from leading industry experts, research institutions, and oil and gas enterprises, including those in Azerbaijan and other countries. Compliance with these Regulations is mandatory for all organizations operating in the oil and gas production sector.
